HOUSTON, Texas – The Seattle Mariners today announced that they have traded outfielder Austin Jackson to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for a Player to be Named Later (PTBNL) and International Bonus Slot #98. Jeff Kingston, the Mariners Assistant General Manager, made the announcement.

The Mariners will make a corresponding roster move tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 1.

He is hitting .281 (91×324) since his return from the disabled list on May 26, including a current 10-game hitting streak (Aug 22-current) during which he is batting .471 (16×34) with 7 runs, a double, triple and home run and 5 RBI.

Jackson was on the 15-day DL from May 4-16 with a right ankle sprain. His DL stint included 9 games on rehab assignment with AAA Tacoma, where he hit .263 (10×38) with 4 runs, 1 double, 1 RBI and 4 walks.

Jackson was originally acquired by Seattle from Detroit as part of a three-team trade (along with Tampa Bay) on July 31, 2014.
