Duncan, BC – The Cowichan Capitals have traded 19 year-old forward Mackenzie Bauer along with future considerations to the AJHL’s Lloydminster Bobcats in exchange for 20 year-old forward Patrick Geary.
The 6’0″, 185 pound Geary hails from Liberty, Illinois and had a tremendous season last year with the Bobcats putting up 18 goals and 13 assists for 31 points in just 34 games. Entering his third year of Junior, the winger has amassed 30 goals and 26 assists along with 145 penalty minutes in 92 games.”Patrick is a third year Junior A player with size and skill,” said Capitals Head Coach and General Manager Bob Beatty.”He was a point per game player last year while accumulating 105 penalty minutes the year before. We expect Patrick to be able to provide both scoring and grit to the Capitals line-up.”Bauer was acquired by the Capitals last month from the Vernon Vipers where he had nine points in 27 games in his rookie season last year.”Mackenzie had a great pre-season scoring two game winning goals. He is a very intelligent player that can be used in all situations,” added Beatty. The Capitals wish Mackenzie all the best with the Bobcats and wish Patrick a warm welcome to the Cowichan Valley.
