Prince George, B.C. –  Prince George Cougars General Manager Todd Harkins announced today that the Prince George Cougars have reassigned forwards Jackson Leppard and Tyler Ho along with defenceman Jonas Harkins to their respective Midget AAA teams. The three 2000-born players were the first three players selected by the Prince George Cougars in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.

“We talk all the time about how bright our future is as an organization, and these three players are a major reason why,” said Prince George Cougars General Manager, Todd Harkins. “All three came into Training Camp ready to turn some heads, and they didn’t disappoint.”

Harkins adds, “They showed poise, patience, and confidence throughout the preseason and fit right in with our veterans. We know that all three guys are going to play a big part in the success of their Midget teams and we wish them all of the best moving forward.”
Jackson Leppard
was selected eighth overall by the Prince George Cougars back in May. He suited up in three preseason games for the Cougars and will now suit up this weekend for the Vancouver Northwest Giants as they take part in the BCMML Midget AAA Showcase in Kelowna.

Jonas Harkins was selected in the second round (29th overall) by the Prince George Cougars in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. He dressed in three preseason games for the Cougars and recorded  four penalty minutes. He will now suit up for the Cariboo Cougars of the BCMML and is also Kelowna-bound for the Midget AAA Showcase.

Tyler Ho was drafted in the third round (66th overall) by Prince George in the 2015 draft and also drew into three preseason games. He’ll join Jonas Harkins with the Cariboo Cougars, and will suit up this weekend in Kelowna at the Midget AAA Showcase.

With the departure of Leppard, Harkins and Ho, the Prince George Cougars preseason roster now sits at 33 players: 19 forwards, 10 defensemen and four goaltenders. The Cougars next preseason game will take place on Saturday, September 12th at 11:00 AM against the Kootenay Ice. That game is the third and final game for the Cougars during their WHL preseason showcase tournament in Kennewick, WA.
