Esquimalt, B.C.:  It was a nail-biter at the Archie Browning Arena Saturday night, as the Belles of the Brawl narrowly defeated theMargarita Villains 148-145 to claim the Calamity Cup.

It was back and forth for the entire game with the Belles taking a close lead after the first half. The Belles held a decent lead until The Wife of Wrath racked up 19 points in a single jam for the Villains – the most points earned in a jam the entire game.

The game was so close, that only a single point separated the Belles from the Villains in the second half, with the Villains scoring 82 points and the Belles, 81.

An incredibly close game came down to the final jam, with an unofficial final of 148-145 in favour of the Belles! Belles’ Co-Captain Rage was named their MVP and Co-Captain Felix the Brat was selected as the Villains’ MVP.

The win marks the first time the Belles have won the trophy since 2012, with the Villains claiming the title for the last two seasons.

Prior to the headlining bout, the Eves of Destruction junior derby stars, The Rotten Apples fell to the Nanaimo Candy Crushers 293-131.

Slaughter Bee was named MVP for the Crushers and Black Eye Suze won MVP for the Apples.

This marks the end of the 2015 home season for the Eves of Destruction. The next action happens for the A-Team who is headed to the Hicktown Throwdown in Armstrong, BC in October.
