Women’s national team to compete in NORCECA Continental Championship in Mexico

Michoacan, Mexico (Sept. 25) – The Canadian women’s team is set to compete at the NORCECA (North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation)Continental Championship Sept. 27 to Oct. 3 in Michoacan, Mexico.

Canada needs to finish in the top four teams in order to advance to the Olympic Qualifier slated to take place December 2015 (more information to be announced).”This is a very important tournament for our team, as the top four teams will earn a spot at the Olympic qualification tournament,” said Canada’s coach, Arnd Ludwig. “I know that the women are very motivated to do well at the Continental Championship, and we are looking forward to the challenge of facing top NORCECA teams.”Canada (Group A) is scheduled to play the following preliminary matches:Sept. 27: 17:00 – Canada vs Cuba
Sept. 28: 18:00 – Canada vs United States
Sept. 29: 14:00 – Canada vs Costa Rica
