VICTORIA, B.C. — On the eve of their Home Opener, the Victoria Grizzlies are happy to let their fans know they’ve gone high-tech.
The Grizzlies have unveiled an OFFICIAL TEAM APP, available on all mobile devices, and have partnered with B.C. Transit to unveil a new mobile air hockey game called “Bear Hockey” that is bound to be a hit with Victoria hockey fans.
The Grizzlies open at home on Thursday night against the Coquitlam Express (7pm), finally skating on home ice after playing their first five BCHL regular season games away from home.
The official Victoria Grizzlies App is the place to go to get team news, check the schedule, keep up on social media feeds, look at the team roster, see the BCHL standings, and get paperless tickets for home games at The Q Centre.
Fans can schedule alerts, look at a seating map of the arena, and listen to the play-by-play broadcasts.
“The Grizzlies App will make it even easier for our fans to access the information they want, and become more engaged with the team throughout the season,” said Sonya Saujani, Vice-President of Operations.
“Being able to buy tickets through the app, check in on our social media buzz, see the standings and listen to the broadcasts through your mobile phone will bring more fun to following the Grizzlies, no matter where our fans are.”
VIRTUAL AIR HOCKEY GAME, WITH BC TRANSIT
“Bear Hockey,” it’s called. This part is pure fun.
by BC Transit, the Bear Hockey App turns your iPhone or Android into an air hockey game. It’s a great way to pass the time while taking BC Transit to work, school or getting home.
Taking BC Transit is a way to save money and get there on time, and BC Transit is the perfect way to head to a Grizzlies game — the Family Travel Program allows pass-carrying parents to take as many as four children, aged 12 and under, on the bus with them for free!
BC Transit will be helping to promote the Bear Hockey App at the Grizzlies Home Opener on Thursday, October 1st — just a few days away, with the Grizzlies welcoming the Coquitlam Express to The Q Centre in
