Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals scored on two powerplay opportunities in a 4-2 victory over the Kamloops Blazers Friday night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
The Royals’ Tyler Soy scored in the second period on the powerplay before he added his additional and the eventual game-winning goal late in the middle frame. Victoria opened the scoring when Chaz Reddekopp capitalized on the man-advantage mid-way through the first period. Reddekopp would score his second of the game in the final stanza. Kamloops’ goals were scored by Jake Kryski and Nolan Kneen.
In Victoria’s net, Coleman Vollrath turned away 26 of 28 shots, while Kamloops’ goaltender Connor Ingram stopped 25 of 29 shots directed at him.
With the extra attacker, the Royals went 2/6=33.3%, while the Blazers were 1/4=25.0% on the powerplay.
Victoria will continue their back-to-back home series against Kamloops tomorrow night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
