The West Kelowna Warriors killed off 8 of 10 penalties, and scored three times in the 3rd period to hand the Wenatchee Wild their first BCHL loss, 4-2 Saturday at Royal Lepage Place.

A high energy first period had the crowd of 856 excited, as there was a lot of physical play and a couple quality chances.

Kyle Marino brought the Warrior faithful to their feet in the final minute of the first period, as his shot slid through Garrett Nieto’s legs.

The Wild would get a pair of power-play goals in the 2nd period, as West Kelowna found themselves short-handed on 6 separate occasions.

The 3rd would be a different story for West Kelowna, who got a nice short-side goal from Kylar Hope. After the goal, Jonathan Desbiens would get the puck on a 2-on-1 with Garrett Forster, with Forster burying the cross-ice pass just 19 seconds after the Hope goal.

Liam Blackburn added a beautiful short-handed marker to round out the scoring with 2:20 remaining.
West Kelowna held Wenatchee to just 18 shots, including only 1 in the 3rd period with 0.6 seconds left.

The Warriors will look to build on the momentum Tuesday night when the Coquitlam Express roll into town. Puck drop at 7.
