It was a good regular season start for the Ballenas Whalers, scoring early and forcing Spectrum back on their heels. As for Spectrum it was their second straight lose, of the season, but not for a lack of trying. Ballenas ran up the score quickly and often in the first half with several run plays by #10 Corbin Orcutt and #33 Logan Pepper and a nice 25m pass to #7 Clayton Hurst for TD’s.

The opening kickoff for the second half started with a scary injury to Ballenas #80 Damon Thompson when tackled on returning the kick. Once play returned Spectrum gained some momentum and put some points on the board with a punt return for 60m and a pass reception and run for 50m both for TD’s by Spectrums #19 Riley Wilson. Although Spectrum ran out of time  and day light from the lengthy injury time delay to mount any real come back as the final score was 48-14.

Ballenas next game will be a tough one against John Barsby Oct 14th. While Spectrum’s next game is their first away game Oct 15th at NDSS.
