Kamloops, BC—The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men’s basketball team went unbeaten this weekend and their exhibition tournament.  The WolfPack won their second straight game as they took the Trinity Western University Spartans at the Tournament Capital Centre on Saturday (Oct 17).  The score was 74-48.

“It was good from the standpoint that we were able to get everyone in,” said WolfPack head coach Scott Clark. “ The guys who came off the bench provided us energy. I was pleased with that.  I thought that we showed some maturity from the standpoint that the differential in score every quarter was better than the last.  That is what good basketball teams do, they just don’t try and blow someone out. They approach it as trying to improve every quarter with mental toughness and resolve. That lead grows to a certain point.  I thought in the end of the first quarter and start of the second that we lost track of that. If you look after the process then the end goal will look after itself.”

TRU had four players in double figures.  Volodymyr Iegorov (4th year, forward, Donetsk, Ukraine) had 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Josh Wolfram (5th year, forward, Kamloops, BC) also had a double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Reese Pribilsky (5th year, guard, Victoria, B) added 12 points.   Luke Morris (3rd year, forward, Mission, BC) added 11 points.

The ‘Pack led 37-26 at the half.

Trinity Western was led by Kelvin Smith (5th year, wing, Los Angeles, CA) had 15 points.

The WolfPack have two more exhibition games: both at the Tournament Capital Centre.  Next Friday (Oct 23), they host the Kwantlen Polytechnic Eagles (PACWEST).  On Saturday (Oct 24), they host the Simon Fraser University Clan (NCAA Division II).
