Penticton Iron Pentathlon Swim Meet

TRU Wolfpack Swim Team had 6 Swimmers a compete at the Penticton Iron Pentathlon Oct 16 – 18th. The WolfPack Men with two swimmers placed 7th out of 10-team competition. 

Highlights of the Men’s team included Greg Petersen  (Kamloops, BC) qualifying for the CWUAA Championships in UBC in three individual events and placing 3rd overall in the Iron Pentathlon. Petersen qualified for the CWUAA’s in the 50 Breaststroke, 50 Backstroke and 50 Freestyle.  Jagdeesh Uppal  (Kamloops, BC) in the last day of the competition placed 10th overall in the Sprint Pentathlon events.

In the Ladies team placing’s the WolfPack women placed  9th out of 10-team competition.  Highlights of the Women’s team included: First year student Megan Rousseau (Comox, BC)  just missing the CWUAA time standard in the 50 Backstroke by 1 second with a time of 33.40 > Rousseau also placed18th in the Iron Pentathlon. Taylor Carmichael (Merritt, BC)  had a very strong showing in the overall Iron Pentathlon placing  10th overall. Sadie Keim (Kamloops, BC)  in the 200 Fly placed 9th overall and was 13th in the Iron Pentathlon.   Jacquelyn  Belanger (Summerland, BC)  top placing came in the final day of the meet, placing 30th in the 50 Backstroke.

TRU Wolfpack Swimming’s next event is October 24th at the Kamloops Classic’s Distance meet in Kamloops.
