Glacier Kings halted the Cougars three-game winning streak


COURTNEAY, B.C. – Brandon McReynolds and Ronnie WIlkie each had a goal and an assist as the Comox Valley Glacier Kings halted the Victoria Cougars three-game winning streak with a 4-3 victory Saturday night.

Also scoring for Comox Valley (9-5-0-3), who led 4-2 after two periods, were Jake McKenzie and Ben Raffler.

Kameron Fink, Taylor Leger, and Dom Kolbeins replied for the Cougars (10-4-1-0).

In net for the Glacier Kings was Paul Broadbent who made 26 saves for the win.  Anthony Ciurro turned aside 28-of-32 shots.

Comox Valley went 1-for-8 on the power play while Victoria converted once on four chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the VIJHL:  Westshore Wolves 5, Oceanside Generals 3.  Kerry Park Islanders 3, Peninsula Panthers 2.

Next game for the Cougars is Sunday, October 25 against the Kerry Park Islanders.  Game time at the Kerry Park Recreation Centre, located at 1035 Shawnigan Lake-Mill Bay Road, is 3:00 p.m.
