Vancouver College proved themselves to be an expected challenge at both JV and Varsity levels. The JV Rams lost a close game by a score or 13 to 9 on Friday while the Varsity Rams suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Fighting Irish 20 to 0.
In the Varsity contest, Vancouver College as expected was the best offense and defence the Rams had faced thus far this season. Having said that there was a lot of heart demonstrated in a very physical battle and the players fought hard until the final whistle. The leading rusher for the Rams was once again Declann Michielin who ran for 60 tough yards. Gideone Kremler connected on 12 completions for 159 yards. Gavin Cobb hauled in 4 receptions for 58 yards, followed by Gevhahn McNally-Hardisty with 3 catches for 45 yards. On defense, Declann led the Rams with 12 tackles, followed by Aidan Kachanoski with 8 tackles, Trystin Waters with 7 tackles and a fumble recovery, Oliver MacKenzie with 6 tackles and a fumble recovery and Manny Lopez with 6 tackles.
The Rams now turned their attention to cross-town rival Belmont with a Friday double-header November 6th. The JV Rams play at 12:30 pm Westhills Stadium, followed by the Varsity game at 4:00 pm. Please see the shortened Varsity schedule for this week.
