The women produced yet another exciting five-set contest to cap off the weekend with Camosun carrying away the hard-fought win. Third-year outside hitter Michelle Zygmunt (Abbotsford) had a stand-out performance today contributing 28 points which included 23 kills, 4 aces and 1 stuff block. Second-year outside Megan Beckett (Reynolds) and newbie Morgan Monkman climbed into the double digits with 16 points each. Chargers end Week 4 with a record of 5-1 while Douglas drops to 5-3.

The Chargers men delivered a decisive straight set victory over Douglas today to close out the weekend. Third-year leftside Haakon Ostrem (Norway) mounted another massive attack over the Royals posting 20 points (17 kills, 2 blks, 1 ace) and 8 digs. Teammate Rian Plante (Comox) was also an offensive force with 11 kills and 1 block. The Chargers remain undefeated at 6-0 while handing the Royals their first two losses of the season (6-2).

 

The Chargers volleyball teams return to PISE next weekend as the teams play host to the UFV Cascades.
