It was another five-set Friday for the No. 3 nationally-ranked Chargers who eventually upended the UFV Cascades (#5 in PACWEST) in a tough take-down that went to 15-9 in the final set. Third-year outside hitter Michelle Zygmunt (Abbotsford) led the Chargers to tonight’s victory with 15 kills and 10 digs. Camosun Chargers DEF. Douglas Royals

CAM 3-1 DC

(25-19, 27-25, 23-25, 25-12)

Touted as the PACWEST MVB match of the week, the contest between the No. 1 nationally ranked Camosun Chargers and the UFV Cascades (#3 in PACWEST and #13 in CCAA) did not disappoint! Just when it looked like the home team would take it in straight sets, the Cascades made a gutsy comeback in the 3rd to push the game to a fourth set which Camosun won decisively. The Chargers remain undefeated with 7 consecutive wins. UFV moves to 4-3. (Note: Players stats were not available at the time of this release.)

The weekend series against the Fraser Valley Cascades continues with tomorrow’s rematch. CAM hosts UFV Women 1pm; Men 3pm.
