NORTH SAANICH, B.C. – Cody Hodges and Dom Kolbeins each had a goal and two assists to lead the Victoria Cougars past the Peninsula Panthers 7-3 for their eighth straight victory.

Victoria moves up one spot to second in the weekly Junior B rankings.

The Kimberley Dynamiters of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League remains No. 1 in British Columbia with a .813 winning percentage.

Meanwhile, the Mission City Outlaws of the Pacific Junior Hockey League drops one spot to No. 3.

Also scoring for the Cougars on Friday night was Kurtis Gamble, Kameron Fink, John Kretzschmar, Ryan Buse, and Nathan Looysen.

Victoria, which improves to 18-4-1-0, led 2-1 after one period and 4-2 after two.

Koby Hale, Josh Poland, and Garnett Roberts replied in a losing cause.

The Cougars were perfect on special teams going 2-for-2 with the man advantage and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

Anthony Ciurro stopped 26 shots for Victoria while Panthers’ Alex Olson made 24 saves.

Peninsula falls to 8-15-1-1.

Next game for Victoria is Sunday, November 22 against the Comox Valley Glacier Kings.  Game time at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 3:30 p.m.
