Camosun Chargers DEF. COTR Avalanche

(28-26, 25-20, 25-9)

The Camosun College Chargers women’s volleyball team began their weekend series against the visiting COTR Avalanche with a straight set victory tonight at the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence. A slow start by the Chargers provided the Avs with the opportunity to take an early lead, however, the home team pushed their opponents to a see-saw battle in the late stages of the first set to edge out a 28-26 win. Camosun completed the come-back and cruised to victory with a solid 25-20 result in the second set and the delivery of a decisive third (25-9).

Third-year outside hitter Michelle Zygmunt (Abbotsford) led the charge with 19 points (18 kills, 1 stuff block) and 8 digs. Second-year outside Megan Beckett (Reynolds) had 14 points (12 kills, 1 block, 1 ace) with 9 digs. Camosun advance to 8-3; COTR slides to 2-9

Camosun Chargers DEF. COTR Avalanche

(25-17, 25-18, 25-13)

The task of overcoming the effects of travelling across the Province and taking on the defending National Champion Chargers proved to be too much for the COTR Avs who went down in three to the Chargers tonight after suffering two tough losses at the hands of the VIU Mariners on Thursday and Friday. Solid contributions up and down the roster as the Chargers worked towards their 11 consecutive victory. COTR drops to 4-7.

The Chargers and Avs return to PISE for the rematch tomorrow at 11am (women) and 1pm (men).
