Local Football Executive Jason Sperling to Head Front Office
Victoria, BC – The Keycorp Group of Companies and the Victoria Shamrocks Senior “A” Lacrosse Club would like to welcome Jason Sperling to the organization as Operations Manager.
Jason has been involved in sports his entire life, most recently volunteering with the Westshore Rebels as the Director of Media & Community Relations. He has been instrumental in the team’s recent successes with community involvement, sponsorships, social media following, and an enhanced in-game experience, all of which have helped increase attendance.
As Operations Manager, Jason will work directly with President Jim Hartshorne, General Manager Chris Welch, and the staff and volunteers of the Shamrocks to continue the club’s recent trend of marketing and game day successes.
Rohan Rupf, Marketing Director for the Keycorp Group of Companies, was tasked by Mr. Hartshorne to head up the search for a new Operations Manager. “In Jason, we were able to find everything we were looking for to take on the front office of the Shamrocks – a young, energetic, leader with sports experience and an enthusiasm for the brand.”
Commenting on his appointment to the position, Jason said, “I am honoured to join the Shamrocks family, an accomplished organization that fosters strong community development. Coming off a Mann Cup win, I understand I have big shoes to fill, continuing the success and professionalism of the club. Mr. Hartshorne has taken this team to new heights over the past 8 seasons, and I am excited to continue the successes for many more seasons.”
Jason moved to Victoria in 2013 with his wife and 2 sons, and contributes greatly to the community, volunteering with CFAX Santas Anonymous, Canadian Blood Services, and the Goldstream Food Bank Society. An alumnus of MacEwan University and Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Jason currently holds a certification with the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of British Columbia.
