MILL BAY, B.C. – Dom Kolbeins and Brett Lervold scored two goals apiece as the Victoria Cougars downed the Kerry Park Islanders 7-3 on a busy Saturday night in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League.

The win was the 16th in a row for Victoria.

Also scoring for the Cougars (26-4-1-0) were Ryan Carson, Cody Hodges, and Kenny Britton.

Victoria led 2-1 after one period and 5-2 after two.

David Bittner, Keenan Eddy, and Caleb Franklin replied for Kerry Park (14-16-1-0) who shut out the Saanich Braves the night prior.

The Cougars finished 2-for-7 with the man advantage while Kerry Park went 1-for-4.

Anthony Ciurro turned away 19 shots for the win in net.  200 feet away, Chase Anderson made 51 saves.

Elsewhere in the VIJHL:  Peninsula Panthers 4, Oceanside Generals 3 (OT).  Nanaimo Buccaneers 5, Comox Valley Glacier Kings 3.

Next game for Victoria is Friday, December 18 against the Campbell River Storm.  Game time at the Rod Brind’Amour Arena, located at 225 South Dogwood Street, is 7:30 p.m.
