Prince Albert, SK – 20-year-old defenceman Jesse Lees scored the Teddy Bear Toss goal for the Prince Albert Raiders, but it was not enough as the Kamloops Blazers skated away with a 5-2 win on Saturday night at the Art Hauser Centre.

Lees’ goal would open the scoring in the game as he found the back of the net at the 13:28 mark of the first period. 2190 bears landed onto the ice that will now be given away throughout the Prince Albert community. The Raiders’ second goal of the game came from Reid Gardiner.

Kamloops team captain Matt Needham led all skaters with four assists, while Deven Sideroff scored a pair of goals and added an assist for three points. Garrett Pilon and Collin Shirley also registered tallies for the Blazers.

Rylan Parenteau got the call between the pipes for the Raiders and made 28 saves on 32 shots. Blazers’ netminder Connor Ingram kicked out 28 of 30 attempts.

The Blazers outshot the Raiders 33-30. Prince Albert went 0-for-4 on the power play, while Kamloops was 2-for-5.

Prince Albert drops to 18-10-2-1 on the season, while Kamloops improves to 14-10-3-1.

The Raiders will close out first half of the 2015-16 season with three games at home next week, beginning on Tuesday, December 15 versus the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
