Edmonton, Alta., —The Arizona Coyotes announced today the club has signed Edmonton Oil Kings defenceman and Alternate Captain Dysin Mayo to a three-year entry level NHL contract. As per the Coyotes’ club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. Mayo, 19, was selected by Arizona in the fifth round (133rd overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft.
The Victoria, BC product is currently playing in his fourth WHL season, all with the Oil Kings, and ranks third on the team with 22 points in 36 games (1G, 21A), also ranking second on the team in assists (21). The D-man tops the team with 12 powerplay assists and is tied for 8th across the WHL in this regard. During the 2014-15 season with the Oil Kings, the forward recorded a career-high 51 points (14G, 37A) in 72 games and finished the year +14.

The 6’1”, 194-pound D-man helped the Oil Kings win the 2014 Memorial Cup Championship and the WHL’s Ed Chynoweth Trophy, registering 15 points (3G, 12A) and a +12 rating in 21 playoff games on the road to the Oil Kings victory.
