Prince George, BC- The Victoria Royals dropped a 1-0 contest to the Prince George Cougars in a game that showcased both teams’ netminders on Friday night.

Both goalies were busy throughout the contest as the Royals’ goaltender Griffen Outhouse stopped 37 of the 38 shots he faced, including numerous highlight reel saves. Victoria generated chances all night but were stymied by the Cougars’ netminder Ty Edmonds who stopped all 41 shots fired his way.

Prince George’s Jesse Gabrielle broke the deadlock as he tallied the game’s lone goal just over a minute into the third period.

Victoria were 0/3=0.0% on the powerplay, while Prince George went 0/2=0.0%.

The Royals will cap off their two-game road set versus the Prince George Cougars tomorrow night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Victoria returns home on Friday, January 15th to begin a six-game homestand against the WHL leading Kelowna Rockets with puck drop slated for 7:05 p.m.
