In recent years, the Portland Winterhawks have given away vehicles, vacations and performed a wedding at center ice. But now the Winterhawks are hoping to get the chance to split $1.5 billion amongst the fans.

Tomorrow night the Winterhawks will host the world’s biggest Powerball pool during the game against the Regina Pats.

The Winterhawks will purchase 1,000 tickets for Wednesday’s Powerball drawing, and all fans 18 and over in attendance at tomorrow’s game can register to get in on the jackpot. If one of the tickets is a winner, the jackpot, currently listed at $1.5 billion, will be evenly divided among all entrants who signed up at the game.

“The entire country has been gripped by Powerball fever, and we want to give our fans a chance at joining in on the fun,” said Portland Winterhawks President Doug Piper. “At $1.5 billion, we could make history with a life-changing event for our fans.”

All fans 18 and over can sign up at no charge at one of the kiosks located on the concourse of the Coliseum. A valid piece of identification will be required, and there will be only one entry per person. All lottery rules and regulations apply as part of the contest.
