COLWOOD, B.C. – Four first period goals helped lift the Victoria Cougars to a 6-2 win over the Westshore Wolves at The Q Centre on Wednesday night.

Scoring for Victoria was Lane Vandewetering, Cody Hodges, Nathan Looysen, Ryan Vorster, John Kretzschmar, and Kenny Britton.

The Cougars (32-4-1-0) outshot Westshore 35-20.

Brodie Smith and Branden Tangney replied for the Wolves.

It was the eighth and final regular season meeting between these two teams.  Victoria won seven games in the season series.

Westshore (18-19-0-3) dropped its sixth in eight games.

Next game for the Cougars is Thursday, January 21 against the Saanich Braves.  Game time at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 7:00 p.m.
