PULLMAN, Washington – Trinity Western’s James Linde (Coquitlam, B.C.) nearly equaled his personal record in the 60m as he clocked a season’s best time of 6.90 to finish atop the field Saturday at the Washington State University’s Cougar Indoor Invitational.

Linde, whose personal record is 6.89, qualified for the final in 7.01 and then put together an impressive effort in the final that was just two hundredths of a second behind the Spartans 60m record, which is held by Calum Innes (Bearsden, Scotland).

The Spartans had four other individual first place finishes over the weekend, with Nathan George (Coquitlam, B.C.) winning the 600m in 1:22.76, Tyler DeJong (Langley, B.C.) finishing first in the 800m in 1:57.03, Blair Johnston (White Rock, B.C.) winning the mile in 4:18.07 and, on Friday, Linde taking top spot in long jump with a mark of 6.96m.

The Spartans will now prepare for the University of Washington’s Husky Classic Feb. 12-13 and the University of Washington Indoor Open Feb. 14.
