Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today that Griffen Outhouse of the Victoria Royals has been named the Vaughn WHL Goaltender of the Month for February 2016.
A 17-year-old from Williams Lake, BC, Outhouse posted a record of 5-0-0-1 over six appearances in February. He recorded a 1.58 goals against average and a .940 save percentage to go along with one shutout. In the six games he appeared in, Outhouse held the opposition to two goals or fewer on five occasions.
Outhouse’s productive play has propelled the Royals to first place in the B.C. Division and Western Conference standings. The 5’11”, 175 lb netminder claimed one first star honour in February while helping Victoria achieve a record of 12-1-1-0 for the month.
Outhouse is in his first WHL campaign with the Victoria Royals and has posted a 14-3-3-1 record with four shutouts in 23 career regular season contests.
These accomplishments make Griffen Outhouse a deserving choice as the Vaughn WHL Goaltender of the Month for February.
