Lacey, WA – The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader today to the Olympic Community College Rangers. The scores were 9-3 and 7-3.
Veteran Frank Fisico (Toronto, Ontario) started game one for the WolfPack and threw six innings, giving up seven runs on nine hits. He also walked one and struck out two. Joel Pineau (Calgary, Alberta) came into the game in relief and went two innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He didn’t strikeout or walk a batter.
Offensively, Blayne Halland (Kamloops, BC) went 1-3 with a double and a walk. Anthony Grouette (Calgary, Alberta) and Malcolm Upton (Maple Ridge, BC) both collected a hit and scored a run each. Tony Tabor (White Rock, BC) walked twice and scored a run.
In the second game, Regan Gillis (Fort McMurray, Alberta) went six innings, giving up six runs on nine hits. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out two. Nelson Lipszyc (Calgary, Alberta) went two innings in relief and gave up one unearned run on one hit.
Josh Hillis (Calgary, Alberta) went 1-2 with a single and walk. Tony Tabor went 1-4 with single, two RBIs, a walk, stolen base and run scored. Blayne Halland walked twice while Anthony Grouette and Taylor Van Ham (Medicine Hat, Alberta) both scored a run each.
The ‘Pack will take on Olympic Community College for a doubleheader again tomorrow. Game times are at 11 and 1.
