VANCOUVER, BC – Wednesday, March 9: The Vancouver Rugby Festival begins Thursday, March 10th, and it will be giving Rugby enthusiasts, as well those curious about the sport, a chance to catch some of the world’s top Rugby players for free in the world-renowned Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC.

Several National and National Select Teams will be competing in the Elite Women’s Sevens Division, as they continue preparations for the Rio2016 Olympic Games, including Canada, the USA, Great Britain and France.

Rugby Canada’s Maple Leafs, plus select teams from across Western Canada, the United States and Fiji will compete in the Elite Men’s Sevens Division.

The action at Stanley Park’s Brockton Oval begins Thursday at 10:40am and continues until 5:00pm, with a similar schedule set for Friday, March 11. The Men’s Elite Division Final is scheduled for Friday at 4:00pm.

The top four Elite Women’s Teams will have the chance to play the Cup and 3rd Place matches at BC Place Stadium in the afternoon of Saturday, March 12th, during the HSBC Canada Sevens Vancouver Tournament.

While the games in Stanley Park are free of charge, tickets are required for the HSBC Canada Sevens Vancouver Tournament at BC Place on March 12-13. Fewer than 2000 tickets remain, and are available at ticketmaster.ca.

The Vancouver Rugby Festival also features an Open Women’s Sevens Division at Stanley Park, while Under-18 and Under-16 Boys’ and Girls’ Divisions are set for Thursday and Friday at UBC’s Ken Woods Field.  An Over 40 Men’s Fifteens competition will be held on Friday at Vancouver’s Connaught Park.
