Camosun Chargers 1, Douglas Royals 3
The final day of the CCAA Men’s Volleyball Championships began with a very familiar rivalry as the two top PACWEST teams went head to head. While they had hoped to be meeting in the gold medal match, fate seemed to have a different plan for them.
Coming off of last night’s heartbreak, the Chargers came into the game determined to bounce back. They did just that in the first set, as they stole one away from the hosts, 25-21.
However, the Royals would not go down without a fight. They came into the second with a ferocity that caught the Chargers off guard. The shock factor was enough to give them the next two sets, allowing them to take it with a score of 25-20, and 25-17 respectively.
Going into the fourth, it was do-or-die for the Chargers. They played their best volleyball of the game, but it wasn’t enough against the rolling Royals, who capped off the game with a 27-25 set win.
The Player of the Game for the Royals was none other than, Carson Heppell, winning the award for the second time on the weekend. On the other end, Alex Sadowsky received the decoration for the Chargers
