Canada Soccer U 15 identification camp

Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Youth Program’s eastern U-15 identification camp will take place from 21 to 24 March in Montréal, Québec. The camp will feature a selection of 14 players born 2001 or later from Québec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. The camp will also feature academy players from Impact Montréal FC.

This is the third such identification camp organised through Canada Soccer’s Men’s EXCEL Program. The three camps allow Canada Soccer’s technical staff to assess more than 70 bright Canadian prospects from across the country. The western camp took place in Burnaby, BC from 8-11 February while the central camp took place in Vaughan, ON from 29 February to 3 March.

“We continue to work in collaboration with our provincial associations and the professional clubs to identify young talents across the country, “said Tony Fonseca, Canada Soccer’s Technical Director.” We have already had two successful camps and we can see that the talent pool observed adds quality and depth in the process of shaping a brighter future for soccer in this country.”

Just last year, Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Youth Program engaged in 20 camps and tournaments from the U-15 to U-23 levels. That schedule included the CONCACAF Men’s Under-17 Championship, the CONCACAF Men’s Under-20 Championship, and the CONCACAF Men’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament. The schedule also included youth identification camps at different age levels. In all, 3,623 player days were afforded to 311 Canadian youth players over the course of the year.

Canada Soccer’s Men’s EXCEL Program channels our nation’s exceptional players into the best soccer environments. The Canada Soccer Pathway works in collaboration with our provincial and territory partners as well as the professional clubs and academies. For Canada’s elite players, the program emphasizes player development on the pathway to representing Canada’s Men’s National Team in international soccer.
