Victoria Cougars have regained home ice advantage

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – The Victoria Cougars have regained home ice advantage.

Dom Kolbeins, Ryan Lawson, and Akila Sato-Gaudreau scored and Anthony Ciurro made 35 saves as Victoria held on for a 3-2 win over the Campbell River Storm on Friday.

The 2016 VIJHL Championship Series is now tied at two games apiece.

Announced attendance was 1,014.

Game 5 goes Sunday afternoon at the Archie Browning Sports Centre.

Ciurro, who was pulled after allowing two goals on three shots in Game 3, was terrific in a frantic third period.

Scoring for Campbell River was Keenan Scardina and Gage Colpron.

The Cougars led 1-0 after one period and 3-1 after two.

Riley Welyk made 30 saves in a losing cause.

Victoria went 1-for-4 with the man advantage while the Storm finished 1-for-3.
