After a scoreless first period, Everett opened the scoring at the 14:52 mark of the second on a goal by Brandon Ralph. Then, the Silvertips made it 2-0 with a goal from Dawson Leedahl at the 18:13 mark of the period heading into the third.
Everett extended their lead to 3-0 at the 4:49 mark of the third after Leedahl scored his second of the night, which would remain the final.
Hill finished with 48 saves on 51 shots he faced from the Silvertips. Everett’s Mario Petit stopped all 29 Portland shots he faced as the Silvertips take a 1-0 lead in the series.
