Prince Albert’s season ends with Game 5 loss

Prince Albert, SK – Zach Sawchenko made 36 saves for the Moose Jaw Warriors as they defeated the Prince Albert Raiders 5-0 in Game 5 of their first round best-of-seven series on Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre.

The Warriors win the best-of-seven series 4-1 and advance to the second round of the WHL Playoffs.

The loss brought an end to the WHL careers of the Raiders’ 20-year-old players Jordan Tkatch (336 WHL regular season games), Jesse Lees (294 WHL regular season games), and Hunter Warner (96 WHL regular season games).

Dryden Hunt and Tanner Jeannot both scored two goals for the Warriors. Brett Howden (1g-1a) and Brayden Point (2a) also collected two points.

Prince Albert goaltender Rylan Parenteau made 26 saves on 31 shots, while Sawchenko stopped 36 shots for his second consecutive shutout.

The Raiders outshot the Warriors 36-31. Prince Albert went 0-for-5 on the power play, while Moose Jaw was 3-for-7.
