Tips Shut Out T-Birds In Game 1

KENT, April 8, 2016 – The Everett Silvertips shut out the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-0 Friday night at ShoWare Center in Game 1 of their Round 2 playoff series.

Game 2 of the series is Sunday at 5:05pm at ShoWare Center. The T-Birds outshot the Silvertips 13-4 in scoreless first period.
Everett took a 1-0 lead 11 minutes into the first period on a goal from Remi Laurencelle. Carson Stadnyk and Noah Juulsen had the assists.
Everett outshot Seattle 11-8 in the second period. Seattle led 21-15 in totals shot after two periods.
Matt Fonteyne scored an unassisted power-play goal at 2:11 of the third period to give Everett a 2-0 lead.
Laurencelle scored on a backhand shot from the slot at 3:27 of the third to put the Silvertips in front 3-0. Stadnyk and Graham Millar had the assists.
Everett outshot Seattle 14-5 in the third period and 29-26 in the game.
Seattle goalie Landon Bow made 26 saves on 29 shots in the loss.
Everett goalie Carter Hart stopped 26 shots to get the shutout.
Games 3 and 4 are at Xfinity Arena in Everett. Game 3 is Wednesday at 7:05pm and Game 4 is Friday at 7:35pm.
