Kelowna, BC- The Victoria Royals scored the first three goals of the contest to drop the Kelowna Rockets 3-2, with a seventh and deciding game to take place on Tuesday at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
The Royals’ Jack Walker opened the scoring before Tyler Soy added to Victoria’s lead in the first period. Regan Nagy scored the game winner when he finished off a nice passing play from Alex Forsberg in the middle frame. Kelowna’s goals were scored by Cal Foote and Justin Kirkland.
Victoria started Coleman Vollrath in net who made 25 saves on the 27 pucks he faced. Kelowna netminder Michael Herringer stopped 33 of 36 shots.
The Royals held a 1/7=14.3% mark on the powerplay, while the Rockets were 0/3=0.0%.
Game 7 between the Royals and Rockets will take place on Tuesday night with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
