ladies finished the regular season with a strong outing

The club went two for three on Saturday, winning a pair of big matches and coming up a bit short in the third.

The ladies finished the regular season with a strong outing against the visitors from Seattle, winning 27-17. They have now clawed their way into first place, earning themselves a home semi-final this coming Saturday against Burnaby (11:30am kickoff). The Valkyries lost their last match against Burnaby, so we can look forward to a tough one!

The first div men struggled against a strong Cowichan side Saturday in the Island final, losing 23-12. With that, the squad is done for the season and don’t carry on to provincial playoffs.

The 3rds fared better in their Island final, dominating Comox 53-5. That’s two Island championships for the club (including the women in the fall), certainly titles to be proud of. The 3rds now head to BC semi-finals, away Saturday against the Brit Lions (1:45pm at John Oliver Park in Delta). It would seem that our sometimes overlooked second div squad has also made playoffs, with an away match against the Meralomas set for Saturday as well.
