TAILGATE PARTY PLANS ANNOUNCED
Brandon, MB. – 94.7 Star FM, 880 CKLQ, Heritage Co-op and the Brandon Wheat Kings are pleased to announce plans for a special Playoff Pre-Game Tailgate Party on Friday.
The barbecue, which will go from 5-7pm in the Heritage Co-op Parking Lot, will be held before Friday night’s Eastern Conference Final playoff game between the Wheat Kings and visiting Red Deer Rebels.
This is the second year in a row that Brandon is playing in the Western Hockey League’s “Final Four” after beating Edmonton and Moose Jaw in rounds one and two respectively. The Rebels advanced by defeating Regina in game seven Tuesday night.
While Heritage Co-op will be donating smokies, buns and pop to all fans in attendance at the Tailgate Party, CKLQ, 94.7 Star FM and the Wheat Kings will be accepting donations for Helping Hands.
As well, the first 4,000 fans in attendance at the game will receive a special edition #GoldRush playoff rally towel, compliments of Montana’s Barbecue and Bar, Precision Toyota, The Brandon Sun and Sunrise Credit Union.
Playoff Pre-Game Tailgate Party
Puck drop Friday is 7:3pm, with doors to Westman Communications Group Place, scheduled to open at 6:30pm.
Game two of the best of seven series will be played Saturday night in Brandon, before the series shifts to Red Deer for games three and four on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Over 15,000 fans attended Brandon’s three playoff games against Moose Jaw during the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.
The Wheat Kings are currently averaging 4,700 fans through six playoff home games at Westman Place.
