Lee played in 28 games with the Oil Kings this season
EDMONTON, ALTA. – The Edmonton Oil Kings traded goaltender Payton Lee to the Kootenay Ice in exchange for a conditional 6th round pick in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft, general manager Randy Hansch announced.
The 6’1”, 191-pound Lee played in 28 games with the Oil Kings this season, registering a 9-15-2-0 record, with a 3.36 GAA and a .882 save percentage. Lee also appeared in all six post-season games in 2016 with Edmonton going 2-4 with a 4.03 GAA and .902 save percentage.
“We really appreciate the hard work and dedication Payton gave us while with the Oil Kings,” Hansch said. “We are happy Payton will finish out his junior career in his hometown. He is truly a fantastic young man and teammate.”
Lee has a career record of 61-86-7-4 with a 3.39 GAA and .884 save percentage.
