Today was the 2016 CFL Draft and the draft board had a very ‘Blue and Gold’ tint to it when all was said and done. Five members of the Vanier Cup Champion UBC Thunderbirds had their names called today and will now embark on their careers in professional football

Today was the 2016 CFL Draft and the draft board had a very‘Blue and Gold’ tint to it when all was said and done. Fivemembers of the Vanier Cup Champion UBC Thunderbirds hadtheir names called today and will now embark on their careersin professional football. The drafted players and draft positionsare listed below:

DB – Taylor Loffler – 19 th by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers“I’m super excited to have my name called,” says Taylor Loffler “It feels great,but the work starts now. I want that starting spot.”

LB – Terrell Davis – 21 st by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats“All my friends started texting me out of the blue,” says Terrell Davis. “When Ifound out I had been drafted my girlfriend and I started jumping up and down.It was an amazing experience.”

Quinn van Gylswyk 1

K/P – Quinn Van Gylswyk – 26 th by the Saskatchewan Roughriders“I was golfing with my Dad and my phone just blew up,” says Quinn vanGylswyk. “It feels great, no it feels awesome.”

Mitchell Barnett UBC

LB – Mitchell Barnett – 59 th by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats“I was getting a little nervous,” says Mitchell Barnett. “Then my agent calledme and told me I had been drafted. It was surreal.”

Boyd ubc

DL – Boyd Richardson – 65 th by the BC Lions“It’s super exciting,” says Boyd Richardson. “I was golfing with Mitchell(Barnett). When we heard we were both drafted, we tackled each other.”
