Horton High School’s Ingham commits to Acadia Axemen basketball program
WOLFVILLE, NS – Acadia University and the men’s basketball head coach Kevin Duffie are pleased to announce the commitment of the Wolfville, NS native, Matt Ingham.
Ingham, a 6-2 guard will come to Acadia by way of the 2016 NSAAF Division 1 Provincial Champion Horton Griffins.
Ingham is an accomplished Nova Scotia athlete, most recently scoring a game high 34 points in the NSSAF High School Provincial final, where Horton took home the title their first since 2004. He also spent three years representing Nova Scotia at various championships with his most recent in the summer of 2015 winning a bronze medal at the 17u National Championships held in Alberta.
“Matt is a program guy through and through, he is a great student, great person and great athlete. We are so excited to welcome him to the Acadia basketball family,” said head coach Kevin Duffie. “We have seen Matt grow into this exceptional person and athlete right in front of our eyes and are looking forward to his career as an Axemen.”
When asked about his choice Matt said, “I chose Acadia because of their strong combination of athletics and academics. I’ve grown up watching Acadia play and feel like their style of play suits me well. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to play basketball and be able to stay so close to home
Ingham also comes as a very accomplished student and received a sizeable academic scholarship to attend Acadia and he will begin his pursuit for an Engineering degree in the fall of 2016.
