HarbourCats announce partnership with important downtown sector
Victoria, B.C- The Victoria HarbourCats are pleased to introduce the VIATEC Party Deck to be featured at Royal Athletic Park for select West Coast League games in 2016.
Victoria Innovation, Advanced Technology and Entrepreneurship Council (VIATEC) began in 1989 as a way to connect people, knowledge and resources to grow and promote Victoria’s thriving and growing technology sector.
The VIATEC Party Deck will be located on the first base side of Royal Athletic Park, overlooking the HarbourCats dugout. VIATEC and their members will have the party deck for five dates throughout the season on a special deal. During those five dates, members will be provided with special pricing for a game ticket, beer and a burger, and more importantly a chance to socialize and wind down outside of the office environment.
A fitting nod to the technology sector, VIACTEC branding will appear on the ballpark’s video scoreboard every game promoting the Party Deck and enhanced WiFi available at the stadium, which is provided by Tesseract Computers.
“VIATEC has really come to embody what the ‘new Victoria’ is all about, a growing, vibrant, futuristic segment that is boosting the region’s economy, and the people behind it, like Dan Gunn, are true leaders in our community,” said Jim Swanson, Managing Partner of the HarbourCats.
“The ballpark has, for many people, become the new golf course for people to unwind, but also to talk business and scope out new opportunities. VIATEC believes our family-style but upbeat environment is a perfect venue to brainstorm in a comfortable setting — and we agree.”
Special VIATEC dates are as follows:
Friday, June 17
Thursday, June 30
Friday, July 1
Thursday, July 28
Friday, August 5
