MAPLE RIDGE CHRISTIAN GUARD ROBINSON COMMITS TO SPARTANS
LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western men’s basketball coach Aaron Muhic officially announced the signing of Maple Ridge Christian School guard Justin Robinson (Maple Ridge, B.C.) Wednesday.
The 6-foot local product is coming off an impressive Grade 12 campaign in which he averaged 29.6 points, 6.6 rebounds 4.5 assists and 4.2 steals per game with Maple Ridge Christian.
“Justin is a great addition to Spartan basketball,” Muhic said. “He was a solid leader at Maple Ridge Christian and he will be a solid leader at Trinity Western University, specifically within the Complete Champions Approach. He knows what it looks like to work hard and I have full confidence he will develop into a contributing player at the CIS level. His coach at Maple Ridge Christian, Brynden MacTavish, has prepared him well to take the next step in his basketball journey. I am very excited to work with Justin and be a part of his growth as a basketball player and as a person.”
Robinson, who played his club basketball with Valley Basketball Academy, plans to study business at TWU.
“Trinity Western will offer me the experience of small classes, a supportive community and great professors and coaches throughout my young adult life,” Robinson said. “I’m thrilled to be joining the Spartans and can’t wait for the fall.”
Robinson joins fellow guards Josiah Meppelink (Langley) and Nigel Boyd (Richmond, B.C.) as Muhic’s first three announced commitments for 2016.
