The Jr. Shamrocks return to the Q Centre next Saturday, May 28 at 5:00 pm to take on the Burnaby Lakers

The Jr. Shamrocks broke out of a 3-game losing skid with a road win in Port Coquitlam Sunday. The Rocks played a solid game to come away with a hard-fought 11-9 win, handing the Saints their first on-floor loss of the season (having forfeited a game earlier in the season. Victoria led 3-1 and 7-6 by period as the Saints kept catching up. The winner was credited to Victoria goaltender Mitch Gurney when a PoCo shot bounced all the way back down into the empty net late in the third period. Team captain Matthew Hamilton added an insurance goal, his third of the game at 19:13 to salt the game away. Cole Pickup led the Shamrocks’ offense with a six-point night on a goal and 5 helpers. Hamilton had the hat trick while rookie Colten Merilainen added a pair and 1 assist. Singles came from Brock Thompson-Marshall, Eddie Smith, Tyler Mace, Daniel Smith and the aforementioned Mitch Gurney.
The Jr. Shamrocks return to the Q Centre next Saturday, May 28 at 5:00 pm to take on the Burnaby Lakers. The Intermediate Shamrocks are in action at the Q Centre this Tuesday at 7:00 pm. They will take on the Nanaimo Timbermen.
