Florida Panthers’ forward added to Axemen Celebrity Hockey Dinner
WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Florida Panthers’ rookie forward Logan Shaw has been added to the Acadia Axemen Celebrity Hockey Dinner. Shaw played 53 games for the Panthers and was in the lineup for three playoff games this season. He’ll join NHL great Chris Chelios for the annual event on June 16th in Wolfville.
The native of Glace Bay, played with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, after he was selected 12th overall in the 2008 QMJHL Entry Draft. He was traded to the Quebec Remparts during the 2011-12 season. Florida selected him 76th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut on October 30th, 2015 against the Boston Bruins. In 53 regular season games, Shaw registered five goals and two assists.
The Acadia Axemen Celebrity Hockey Dinner celebrates its 19th anniversary on Thursday, June 16th at the Andrew H. McCain Arena in Wolfville. Since starting in 1998, the event has raised close to $400,000 in support of the men’s varsity hockey program at Acadia University.
