It was a good day for the Intermediate Shamrocks but not so much for the Jr. Rocks as both teams played at the Q Centre Saturday
By Janice Huckins
In the matinee, the Intermediate boys romped to a 20-10 victory over the visiting New Westminster Salmonbellies. They held period leads of 6-2 and 13-4 on the way to the win and almost every player hit the scoresheet. Unofficially 3 players had hat tricks: Teagon Knoles, Brian Robb and Jake Campbell, who also added about 5 assists.
Ben Preston chipped in 2 goals and 6 helpers. Next home game for the Intermediate Shamrocks is next Saturday when they will host a US Box Lacrosse team as they pay visits to 5 different BC Intermediate Lacrosse League teams. That game is at 1:30.
It was a totally different story for the Jr. Rocks as they fell 17-9 to the still undefeated Coquitlam Adanacs. The Adanacs led 8-3 and 15-6 by period.
Marshal King and Eddie Smith each had a pair of goals for the Rocks with Brad McCulley adding 5 points on a goal and 4 helpers.
Cole Pickup, Brock Thompson-Marshall, Dallas Wade and Zac Christianson had the other Victoria goals. The Jr. Rocks are on the road Wednesday to take on the Nanaimo Timbermen and return to the Q Centre for a 5:00 matchup, Saturday, July 2 in their last regular season home games as they will face the Burnaby Lakers.
