Statements from Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada President Jeff Monday and Cape Breton Open Tournament Director Sandy Campbell

“After assessing the situation at Bell Bay Golf Club with Sandy Campbell and the host organization of the Cape Breton Open, we are confident we’ll be able to move forward without any impediment to this year’s tournament. Our best wishes go out to Bell Bay Golf Club as they recover from last weekend’s fire, and our thanks go out to the staff and leadership of the club and host organization for quickly coming together to ensure that the event will continue for this year. On behalf of our players and everyone else involved with the Mackenzie Tour, we look forward to visiting and enjoying Cape Breton later this summer.” – Mackenzie Tour President Jeff Monday

“Despite the tragic fire at Bell Bay this past weekend, with the blessing of the ownership group at Bell Bay we intend to move forward with the Cape Breton Open this year. We feel strongly that the event is an important part of the local community, and we look forward to seeing people from Baddeck and all of Cape Breton Island rallying around this year’s tournament.” – Cape Breton Open Tournament Director Sandy Campbell
