Faminoff, 17, a former Junior National champion, easily won the Boys 16-18 platform event after nailing his final dive, an inward 3 1/2 somersaults, scoring 7.5’s and 8’s from the judges.  Faminoff finished with a score of 519.50 earning him a berth on Canada’s National team competing at the Pan Am Junior Championships in Matanzas, Cuba in October.

Boardworks Ryan Grover, also earned a spot to Cuba after winning the Boys 16-18 1-metre event.  Grover, 17, who won a surprise silver medal at the Summer Senior National Championships in May, convincingly won gold in Edmonton finishing 34 points ahead of silver medallist Peter Thach Mai of Montreal.

Faminoff and Grover will also compete in the Boys synchronized 3 metre event at the Pan Am Junior Championships and will be joined there by 10-year old Carson Paul who will be competing in the Boys 11 & under 1-metre, 3-metre and platform events.
