History Was Made This Week: Rugby Canada’s 7s Team bring home Bronze


History was made this week after the Canadian Women’s 7s team won the first ever Rugby 7s medal at the Olympic Games. Canada’s Women’s 7s team won the inaugural bronze in an impressive 33-10 win vs Great Britain.

The bronze medal was anything but easy for the Canadian Women after losing to Great Britain 0-22 in pool play. Canada had upset France in the Quarterfinals (15-5) to have their shot at the podium. In the semifinals Canada lost to Austrailia which knocked them into the bronze medal game where they dug deep and took the win.
