ANAHEIM, Calif. – Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced that the club has traded infielder Luis Sardiñas to the San Diego Padres in exchange for a Player to be Named Later (PTBNL) or cash considerations.

 

Sardiñas, 23, was designated for assignment by Seattle on Aug. 10.

 

Sardiñas hit .252 (41×163) with 17 runs, 4 doubles and 17 RBI in 44 games in with AAA Tacoma. He hit .181 (13×72) with 12 runs, 2 home runs and 5 RBI in 32 games during three stints with the Mariners this season.

 

Sardiñas was acquired by Seattle from Milwaukee in exchange for outfielder Ramon Flores on Nov. 20, 2015.
