Prince George, B.C. – Prince George Cougars General Manager Todd Harkins announced today that the team has signed 2000-born defencemanCole Moberg (North Vancouver, BC) to a Standard WHL Player Agreement.

Moberg is 6’1”, 170 pounds and was originally listed by the Cougars in the fall of 2015. Last season with the North Shore Winter Club Midget AAA team he scored 21 goals and added 27 assists for 48 points in 57 games along with 66 penalty minutes. He also suited up for six games with the Vancouver Northwest Giants in the BC Major Midget League.

Cole Moberg was easily one of the most consistent and noticeable players on the ice throughout Training Camp,” said Prince George Cougars General Manager, Todd Harkins. “Since he arrived in Prince George he has done all of the right things and is very deserving of this honor. He skates well, plays a strong two-way game and is highly motivated to one day play the game at the highest level.”

Harkins adds, “Above all else, Cole has great character and he is going to play a big part in our future successes in the years to come. We couldn’t be happier to welcome Cole and the entire Moberg family to the Prince George Cougars organization.”

Moberg won’t be NHL draft eligible until 2019 due to his late birthday (October 15, 2000). He will take the ice tonight for Team White in the Cougars Annual Black and White Game which begins tonight at 7:00 pm at the CN Centre.
